How To Care For Your Lawn

Today here at Decor & Tips, we will teach you some techniques that will help make your lawn green, whether they are Carlos or Emerald, and keep pests and insects away.

Sunlight

There are many gardening techniques to take care of lawns; each lawn needs according to its region and climate. However, in general, grass likes a lot of sunlight, except for ornamental grasses, which mostly like shade. Here’s the first big tip: if your grass has a lot of flaws and it’s very thin, it could be an indication that your lawn is in low light.

The application of fertilizers on the lawn, rich in potassium, is essential at certain times of the year. Especially just before the transition of seasons from autumn to winter. The reason is that the plants feel the winter a lot, especially the very exposed grass, also because it needs a lot of light exposure.

This way, preparing the lawn before winter minimizes the impact, and the lawn passes through the season more quickly. The fertilizer, which is rich in potassium, helps in photosynthesis in periods where there is not much light, which hinders the development of the lawn.

Pest Removal

Removing lawn pests which can be done by Earth Development amongst others is one of the most laborious cares. Removal must be done repeatedly to prevent it from spreading across the grass, dispute space, make nutrient absorption difficult, and even shade the lawn and kill the grass little by little. Prevention is much better than removing the already installed pest. They can be made in some ways, but the most common are manual, with tools, or with the application of poisons. This last form is more aggressive, as the poison can attack the pest and the lawn.

Tips For New Lawns And Lawn Renovation

The germination of lawn seeds is generally always possible from at least 8   degrees soil temperature.

Even at high temperatures, the seeds can germinate quickly and easily, providing sufficient moisture during the germination process.

This means that the soil surface and the lawn seeds must not dry out for 4 weeks.

In extremely hot weather conditions, this may mean that hourly watering is necessary for a few minutes so that the soil surface remains consistently moist.

Even at ” normal ” temperatures, new sowing must be briefly irrigated 4 – 5 times a day. At temperatures above 30, it is almost impossible to protect the soil surface and thus the lawn seeds from drying out.

Tip:  The Late summer or autumn is the best and Safest time to sow or renovate the lawn, as the Germination conditions in terms of temperature, humidity, etc. are usually optimal.

According to our specifications, at least 20 g of seeds should always be applied per m2 area.
